Toronto Blue Jays Stadium

Address: Dunedin, FL

Description: In early 2019, construction began on TD Ballpark that would continue to be home to the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training and the Dunedin Blue Jays under a new 25-year lease agreement between the Blue Jays, the City of Dunedin, Pinellas County and the state of Florida. TD Ballpark was slated to open for the 2020 Spring Training season. Some of the key changes made during this renovation include increasing the capacity from 5,500 seats to 8,500 seats and renovating existing concessions and suites. In addition, many new features were added during this renovation including restroom and concession buildings, Jays Shop, Visitors Clubhouse, an air-conditioned bar along the 3rd base line, and a 360 boardwalk around the outfield with a center field bar.

Raynor Scope of Work: Raynor Company Group was employed with the task of remodeling the existing TD Ballpark that was built as the spring training home to the Toronto Blue Jays in 1977. This scope of work began in June of 2019 and was completed on January 15th of 2020.

Raynor installed new exterior metal stud framing and sheathing at the two new restroom and concession buildings, new ticket building and entry canopy, elevator tower, outfield bar areas, and the new suite level. An exterior framed sub-ceiling was also installed under the existing stadium seating section of the entire stadium to allow for MEP trades to suspend their work without attaching to the waterproofed seating structure. Raynor installed multiple cladding assembles at the new and existing building locations consisting of a 3″ Dryvit Outsulation Plus EIFS system, Dryvit DEFS Ceiling systems, Boral Thin Brick Veneer, Hardie Siding, and Hardie Soffit and Fascia Panels.

The interior scope of work consisted of new framing and drywall of partitions, soffits, and ceilings at the suite level, Visitors Clubhouse, Jays Shop, and new concession areas. In addition, new acoustical ceilings were installed using Armstrong 9/16″ grid system with Ultima 2X2 Tegular Tiles at the Suite Level and Visitors Clubhouse, and Armstrong Metalworks linear plank systems at the Jays Shop. Other specialty items provided by Raynor Company Group were FRP panels at concession areas and corrugated metal panels at Bar counters and ceiling clouds.
